David & Taylor

Taylor and David had a gorgeous evening for their shoot.  I love that half their family members are furry.  Smoky and Bandit are their pets.  Bandit is the cutest little black dog!  Smoky is the prettiest gray color... and the softest cat!  I had my work cut out for me as I tried to get the attention of both furry ones at once (alternating dog and cat sounds... you should have been there :)).  I was impressed with how well they did!  Taylor and David, you did great, too.  Ha ha.  We found some new spots, and David even discovered a new type of thorn that he has named after himself.  Glad we avoided those!  Thanks for the laughs... oh, and go Packers! (sorry Taylor :))

Andrew, Jenn, & Cole

Today was a two-session day. :) Andrew and Jenn are the nicest couple ever.  Their little boy Cole is A-DORABLE.  The three of them together make the sweetest family.  Cole is about 6 months younger than my boy, so it's nice to compare notes and swap stories. :) The weather was beautiful and Cole was full of smiles... that is until we set him in the perfect pile of leaves with great light and colors all around.  All he cared about was eating the leaves - which is still totally cute. :)

Chris, Ginny, Emmalyn, and one on the way...

I always get excited to take Chris and Ginny's pics... but I couldn't handle the cuteness today.  Emmalyn was so adorable!!  Ginny and I are part of the wannabefashionablebutaren't club so I was pretty impressed with all their outfits full of fun colors!  Ginny, I may have to vote you out... :) We had a beautiful afternoon.  Emmalyn had fun with pictures for a while, then all she wanted was "umizoomi!" (did I spell that right?) Her little voice is so sweet.  She is going to be a big sister in March (yay!) and Ginny has the cutest baby bump. :)

Arlee, Maggie, Madelynne, & Maylee

Today was so fun!  Maggie and I lived in the Residence Halls at K-State back in the day... and we've only been connected through Facebook until today. :) They were in town for Thanksgiving and scheduled a shoot during their trip.  Arlee just took a Senior Pastor position at a church so we have quite a bit in common!  Maggie and Arlee have two beautiful daughters - Madelynne and Maylee.  Madelynne was SO excited for pictures - we were quick friends.  She picked a spot just for her pics.  Maylee wasn't feeling too well (and it was a bit chilly), but she did great!

Maggie, it was so fun to connect with you and meet your family!

Adam, Meagan, & Elijah

You may remember Adam and Meagan from their belly pictures.  In February they had a cute tiny little baby boy!  He's not so tiny anymore... but Elijah is still as cute as ever!  Adam and Meagan are in town visiting family for the holidays, so we snuck in a little session this afternoon.  It was so fun to hold Elijah!  I'm thankful for the mild temperatures we had today.  It was a bit windy, but we made it work. :) Elijah likes to put EVERYTHING in his mouth, just like my Ezra does... so like a good photographer/mother I encouraged it.  Ha!  Whatever makes them happy for pictures, right? :)

Kaitlyn : Belly

If you haven't met Kaitlyn, you're missing out.  Kaitlyn is a dear friend of mine.  She is one of the most amazing girls I know.  She has such a tender heart and such a sweet smile.  Her laugh is contagious.  She is crazy smart - she is taking pre-med classes that I wouldn't touch with a 10-foot pole! :)  I have gotten to know her and her family over the past 6 (I think?) years and consider myself blessed to know them.  Kaitlyn has a sweet surprise on the way... a baby girl!  I bugged Kaitlyn about belly pics... and finally she caved and let me take some (I promise, you'll be glad you did!).  We had so much fun!  Kaitlyn came to my house and was patient as I tended to 3 kids during our session. :)  My daughter Avery loves Kaitlyn and loves babies... so she begged to take a picture with Kaitlyn (you'll see one below).  It was so sweet.

Kaitlyn, I am so proud of you.  You are going to be an amazing mommy!  I love you.

Liam : 2 years

I honestly feel like I JUST took Liam's one-year pics!  My how time flies... if you haven't met Liam, you can check out his one-year pics here.  I have truly enjoyed being able to watch Liam grow!  He is my first kiddo (besides my own) to take pictures of from newborn on up - two years now!  Yesterday we met at the park to grab a few pictures of Liam (along with his mom and dog :)).  It was cold out, but Liam didn't mind.  He was so excited to play... and ran from one thing to the next - almost faster than I could capture! :)

Theresa & Randy : Family

I was thrilled when Tara contacted me about taking some family photos for her parents.  I went to high school with her (her older brother Robbie was in my class), and she was good friends with my sister.  I don't think I had seen her in over a decade!  It was fun to see the expanded family.  Theresa and Randy were overjoyed to have all of their family in the same city for a couple of days (coming all the way from Colorado and Japan!), so we made the most of their time and braved the cold!  Tara and Paul's little girl Ellorie is 8 months old and adorable!  I can't believe how happy she was throughout the whole shoot... especially after being in the car all day!

Craig, Leah, Caleb, Claire, & Caitlin

One of the reasons I love my job is that I get to meet new people as well as reconnect with others.  I went to college with Leah and Craig (go Wildcats!) back in the day, so I was excited when they asked me to take pictures for them.  It was so fun to see them married (almost 10 years!) with three beautiful kiddos.  We have a lot of common friends and we're at similar stages in life - we should hang out more! :) I was thankful for beautiful weather in the midst of this Kansas craziness.  Caleb is OVER five and a half, so he's practically in charge of the family. :) Claire has the sweetest smile, is two and a half, and rocks being the middle child.  Caleb and Claire are so great with little Caitlin!  She may be nine months old, but she's going on 2 it seems!  She is so close to walking!!
