Liam : 9 months

I feel like I haven't posted in forever!  With summer travels and craziness (as well as the HEAT), I didn't have a shoot for a while.  I was so ready to jump back in... and with one of my faves - Liam!

Liam has changed SO much in the last three months!  He seems like such a big boy with his crawling and standing and stuff. :)  We did a late evening shoot to try to avoid the heat, and he did great!  He was happy and curious, which made for some fun pics.

Here are a few of my favorites from last night:

Alli & Carson

You might remember Alli from this post last fall.  This time we did a session with just Alli and Carson.  Austin is in the military and is away right now.  Though we wish Austin could have joined us, this was a fun session because we got pictures to send him for Father's Day! :)

In the midst of the humidty, we had a decent evening - and Carson did AWESOME! :) We played around downtown (climbing lots of steps), then went to a playground to finish up. :)

Here are some of my faves from last night!

Liam : 6 months

My how time flies!!  It's hard to believe that Liam is already 6 months old!  You can see his newborn pics here and his 3 month pics here.  He sits up like a pro, can push up on to his hands and knees (might have a crawler on your hands soon, Lindsay!), eats solids, and still has the sweetest smile ever.

We ventured out to the park yesterday - we had to wake Liam from his nap, but he didn't seem to mind!  We braved the heat, humidity, crowds, and fish smell to get these pics - here are a few of my favorites!

August Daniel has arrived!!

In my last post, you saw Amanda and Adam with their precious one still inside Amanda's belly. :)

Well, it's a BOY!

August Daniel was born this morning and I had the honor of seeing him on his birthday.  Amanda and Adam were glowing - and they had every right to be!  August is a beautiful baby!  He didn't open his eyes for me, but we still got some sweet pictures of him and his mommy and daddy.

Amanda and Adam, thank you so much for sharing August's birth day with me!  Congratulations - you will be amazing parents!!  I hope you enjoy this sneak peek of your pictures!

Amanda, Adam, and Baby

This photo session was amazing.  For quite a few reasons.

First, I hadn't seen Amanda and Adam since their wedding 3 years ago (wow, time flies) and it was SO good to see them!  They're an amazing couple with a great relationship and joy that shows through every part of them.

Second, I LOVE BABIES - and bellies that have babies in them. :) Amanda and Adam are going to be wonderful parents.  It was so neat to get to share in their excitement!  Amanda loves her baby bump and wasn't afraid to show it - which I LOVE.  It's one of the most beautiful things ever.

Third, this session was just what I needed.  Now, the shoot was definitely about Amanda and Adam and their little one on the way... but let me explain. :) For those of you who don't know, Joe and I are expecting number two!  Yay!  I have been feeling HORRIBLE, though... and though I was completely nauseous I really wanted to do this shoot.  Amanda was SO understanding - even let me come in comfy clothes, no make-up, and hair a greasy mess. :) As soon as I saw Amanda glowing with her big beautiful belly, it was so encouraging!  It reminded me that this season of sickness will end and that I'll get to enjoy this pregnancy... and that it's all worth it.  I left our session not only excited for Adam and Amanda, but feeling very excited for us!  So thank you, Amanda and Adam! :)

Adam and Amanda, thank you so much for choosing me to capture this part of your journey into parenthood.  It was a true joy to see you and I'm so excited for you to become a family of three!  I can't wait to meet the little boy or girl that you bring into this world!!

Liam : 3 months

It's hard to believe Liam is 3 months old!!!  I'm sure you also feel like it was just yesterday that we took his newborn pics!  We took his 3-month pics on Monday, but my week was so crazy I'm just now getting to post about them!

I got really excited when Lindsay talked to me about taking consistent pictures of Liam - that means I get to watch him grow and change, too!

Since it's still cold out, Lindsay and Liam came over to my house for their session.  I set up my backdrop and lighting downstairs and it felt like I had a little mini-studio. :) This was only my second shoot using my new stuff, so I was excited to use it.  I'm already SO much more comfortable with it!  Not gonna lie, I'd still choose to shoot outside any day, but I'm thankful I now have an indoor alternative! :)

Liam was super smily!  He did great!  He gave his mommy his first laugh on her birthday - what a gift!  I was honored that he chose to share his second laugh (and more) with me during his session!  He must like getting his picture taken!  He has the cutest laugh!  Even towards the end when he got a little fussy, it was nothing - I teased Lindsay because his "hard" cry is so sweet and quiet! :)

Here are some of my favorites from Monday - check out his CUTE smile!

Leighton is TWO & Welcome to Micah!

You may remember Leighton from this post - can you believe it's been a year??  Michele asked me to come take some pictures of Leighton just a few days before she turned two.  My how time flies!  Not only was I going to take pictures of Leighton, but her new little brother as well!!!  Michele and Chad welcomed Micah into their lives earlier than expected (he came at 36 weeks), but he is healthy and STRONG!  I'm not kidding you, this 4-week old baby knows how to roll over.  I saw it with my own two eyes!

It was so fun to meet little Micah and get to see Leighton again.  Michele and I like to have playdates, but with this crazy cold weather, and her having a new baby, it's been tough.  We're looking forward to spring!!

This was my first indoor session using a backdrop and off-camera lighting.  Michele is so laid back, she didn't hesitate to be my guinea pig.  Thanks, Chele! :)

Here are some of my faves from Saturday:

Okay, I'm sorry but I just HAD to put these in here... Leighton is one of the most active little girls I've met and I had a decent
number of shots from our session that looked like this (ha ha):

Okay, back to normal :)

Congratulations, Chad and Michele - you have a beautiful family of four!
