Chris & Jacklyn

I can't begin to tell you how dear these two are to me.  Joe and I treasure them and their friendship.  Chris and Jacklyn were sweet enough to let me take pics of them for their Christmas cards in the past, when I was just starting out... and though they weren't awful, well... let's just say I won't be showing you any of those - ha ha.  I'm glad they gave me another shot. :)

We did a little mini-session yesterday.  Though it got a bit chilly at the end, it really wasn't bad for mid-November.  Know that these two have three adorable cats that are part of their family, but they refused to leave the house in this weather. :)

I love you, Chris & Jack!  Here are a few of my faves from your session:

Kaddie : Senior

Kaddaline and her family go to our church, and I was stoked when Kaddie and her mom, Kim, asked me about taking her senior pics!  Between her busy senior schedule and my craziness, today was the day!  Though the wind decided to blow in good 'ol Kansas fashion, we weren't going to let that stop us!  Kaddie was a great sport!  In the midst of hair flying, eyes drying, and stickers poking, we had a blast.  Kim did an awesome job of scouting out some spots, fixing stray hairs, and making Kaddie laugh.  Thanks, you two, for a fun outing!!

Emmalyn Grace

It's a GIRL!!!!

If you saw my last post, you knew Ginny was nearing the end of her pregnancy.  She and her hubby Chris didn't find out during the pregnancy whether they were having a boy or a girl... so delivery day was uber exciting!  Bless Ginny's heart, she had a 26, yes TWENTY-SIX hour labor!  Early the morning of October 13th, Chris texted me and told me it was time to push, and I sprung into action.  I gathered my camera gear, figured out care for Avery, and rushed to the hospital... to wait. :) Ginny pushed for 4 hours, but finally, Emmalyn Grace arrived!!  A beautiful girl... who has the most wonderful parents.

I'm blessed to be Chris and Ginny's friend, and honored that I was able to share this experience with them.  Ginny asked that I get some pictures of D-day, since she'd be a little busy... so here are some of my favorites. :)

Waiting...

Announcing the big news!

Sharing a picture of Emmalyn getting weighed:

Emmalyn meeting her extended family :)

This mother-daughter moment made me a little emotional... caused me to think back to holding my daughter for the first time.

What a proud daddy :)

The beautiful Emmalyn Grace...

Congrats, Chris and Ginny - I'm so happy for you and I'm excited for our girls to be friends!

The faces of Ginny...

Funny faces, that is. :)

I know I told you in the last post that those were some of my favorites... well, these are the rest!  Ginny is going to be such a fun mom, evident in the way she likes to be silly and have fun.  More often than not, I would catch her making a silly face at Chris - he couldn't help but laugh... and of course, I would take a picture.  Don't let Chris fool you - he didn't hesitate to join in on the silliness - you'll see proof below...!

Ginny, Chris, and Baby

I know you'll find it hard to believe, but one of my dearest friends doesn't care for pictures.  Now, Ginny appreciates photography and at least pretends to understand why I get so excited about taking pictures... but when it comes to photos of herself, it's another story. :) I offered suggested insisted that I take some belly pictures of her and her hubby before Baby comes... and perhaps to pacify me, she let me.  I was literally giddy throughout the shoot... she'll tell ya.

Anywho... I grew up with Chris and when he met Ginny I knew we would be friends.  We have shared many seasons of life together, so it was a true joy to take pictures of Ginny and her growing belly.

Here are a few of my faves!
I'm so excited for you two and I can't wait to meet Baby S!!!!

Brian, Krista, Eli, and Kamdyn

This summer, right before we left for vacation, I got to take pictures of my friend Krista and her adorable family.  Brian and Krista are still so sweetly in love, and Eli and Kamdyn have awesome little personalities!  Eli studies everything and is always thinking; Kamdyn is carefree, bubbly, and happy-go-lucky.  They make an awesome pair of siblings!  One of my favorite pictures (as you'll see below) is when we were trying to get Kamdyn to sit up next to Eli... and he was not having it!

Though it took a while with summer craziness, here's (finally) a sneak peek:
