Angela & Kale : 4 years

With the move, I was afraid I wouldn't get to do this session. It had become a tradition! I looked forward to this session every year - and when Angela and Kale (our next door neighbors and dear friends in KS) told us they were coming to visit us in Atlanta, I KNEW we had to make this happen. The timing was perfect, as they had just celebrated their 4-year anniversary. :) Kale was super stoked that I asked them to hike a bit for these photos - he just loves the outdoors. :) We had a beautiful evening and my family tagged along, too! I love taking photos of these two because they constantly make each other laugh - which means I get shots of genuine smiles and true joy. These two were made for each other... some might even say they go together like chips & salsa. ;)

Here are a few of my favorites from their session!

Shep, Jessica, Caitlin, Caroline, Addie Bliss, & Harris

I am excited that this family was my first Atlanta shoot! Jessica is so sweet - and her family is precious! Jessica reached out to me before she ever met me, and even helped me house-hunt long-distance! :) I loved that Jessica and Shep brought along their niece and nephew for the shoot. It was so sweet to get pictures of the four cousins together. We had a beautiful evening, and Shep took us to an amazing location. The kids liked the location, as well - it was so tempting to just run and explore! Thankfully, we were able to get some shots in the midst of running and playing. :)

Atlanta

Big changes are ahead for me and my family. If by chance you aren't my "personal friend" on Facebook then you may not know...

I'm moving to Atlanta, GA!

My husband got an amazing job there... so I guess I'll follow him. :)

I just wanted to take a minute to say thank you to all my past and current clients. Thank you for allowing me to explore a passion of mine. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of such special moments in your lives. Thank you for referring others to me. I have met so many wonderful people through my photography and have loved the moments you've all shared with me.

This isn't the end of Ginger Skillen Photography... I will continue on in Atlanta (though I'll take some time to help my family adjust to the transition first).

Will I be visiting Wichita?
Of course! My family is here, so I will be here when I can. Absolutely.

Will I do sessions when I am back home visiting?
Most likely, no. I'm so sorry... but I know that when I am back home, time with my family will be the most precious thing to me. At this point I don't picture myself wanting to leave for a bunch of shoots. If this changes or I make exceptions, I will let you all know. :)

I have to give a special thank you to my dear friend Gina. Geeeeena! Without you, I am confident I would not be where I am. Thank you for taking the time to teach me, to work with me, and to walk through this job with me. Thank you for seeing something in me (and telling me). I had always admired you and it has been a dream come true to work with you. I am so sad to think of wedding season coming up... because you and I? We rock wedding season. You're a phenomenal photographer and I know I will always aspire to be like you. You're an even more phenomenal friend. I love walking through life with you and I'm thankful that part won't change.

Thank you again... all of you. It is a scary thing to go after something you really love, and you have all helped me overcome my fears and encouraged me in my passion. Thank you.

See ya in the South! Or should I say "See y'all in the South"? :)

Hailley : Senior

This shoot was quick but oh so fun! Hailley and her mom met me downtown for Hailley's shoot and the weather was great. They would say Hailley is a bit shy and reserved, but I say she's a natural in front of the camera - I mean look at that smile! :) Hailley loves to read and enjoys the snow... as you will soon see. Congrats to Hailley on her senior year and best of luck after graduation!

WAPOM 2014

WAPOM stands for Wichita Area Parents Of Multiples. This is the third year I have had the honor of partnering with them to take family portraits. We had some last-minute cancellations, but we still had two families join us! We had a beautiful setting, and it wasn't TOO cold! :) The kids did great - we kept it short and sweet. :)

Gregg, Pam, & Family

This family is great - I've known them for almost 30 years (wow)! I was honored when Pam asked me to come take some family pictures for them. It was Gregg's birthday and I know that taking pictures was just what he wanted for his birthday! :) Pam and Gregg have two kids, Lyndi and Lance, who now have families of their own (you may remember Lance and Hollie from their pictures here). It was great to see them! Though it was cold, we stepped outside for a few pictures. My favorites are the ones with everyone in their WSU Shocker gear. :)

The Claassen Family

What a beautiful family! We had a beautiful day to go along with them. I was so thankful for great weather! Most of these family members live in other states/cities, but they were all together for Thanksgiving. It was the perfect opportunity for family pictures, and I was honored to be a part of their family weekend. :) I know Joy - she coordinated it all and did a wonderful job. This family was so kind and cooperative. It was fun to meet them all!
