New Arrival : Sawyer

There are times I get overwhelmed as a mom of two kids... and then I watch someone like Krista mother her four kids with patience and grace, and I am in awe. :) Brian and Krista just added number four to their family (about a month ago) and I was excited to take pictures of baby Sawyer!  I won't lie, it's a challenge trying to get a picture of four kids four and under!  Thankfully Krista loves candid style, because that's what we got.  It was so fun to see the love between these little siblings! :)

Sawyer loves to do this half-asleep look... it is so sweet.  He finally got tuckered out by the end of the session and completely cashed out, so we did get both eyes closed! :)

Barret : Brand New

My dear friend Ginny and her husband Chris just had a beautiful baby boy and became a family of four!  Fun fact: their daughter Emmalyn and their son Barret are the same age apart as my daughter and son are! :)

Avery and I went to visit Ginny, Chris, and Baby Barret the day after he was born.  He is so cute!  Here are a few pics from the hospital. :)

Donna : Headshots

Over Christmas break not only did I get to spend time with my Aunt Donna, but I also got to take her pictures!  She needed some current shots for her online presence and I was happy to help.  I think it was my coldest shoot to date, so it was a mini mini mini session. :) Aunt Donna, only you and I will know how cold it truly was that day... because you can't tell from your photos! :)

Here are a couple favorites from our session...

Thatcher & Family

This family was so fun!  They had planned this shoot months in advance, and we were crossing our fingers for a random warm December day... hey, it's been known to happen!  It got cold... really cold... so it turned into my first studio shoot!  We rented studio space and had a great experience!!  I was a bit apprehensive since I'm used to shooting outdoors, but they were patient as I made adjustments and I think it went well.

It was a large group - Tom and Kristy (with adorable baby Thatcher - 9mo), Tom's brother Jim and his wife Kristi, Kristy's brother Brian and his wife Jessica, Tom and Jim's parents - Brian and Kathy, and Kristy and Brian's parents - Tim and Denise.  Did you catch all that??  Yeah, there are a couple of repeated names in there! :)

THEN.... right as I began to work on their pictures, my hard drive crashed.  Thankfully I had everything backed up!  I had to send my computer in to get a new hard drive and I just got it back, got everything restored, my programs re-loaded, and all settled into my "new" computer.  Whew!  FINALLY I have a sneak peek for you all!  Thank you SO much for your patience!

David & Taylor

Taylor and David had a gorgeous evening for their shoot.  I love that half their family members are furry.  Smoky and Bandit are their pets.  Bandit is the cutest little black dog!  Smoky is the prettiest gray color... and the softest cat!  I had my work cut out for me as I tried to get the attention of both furry ones at once (alternating dog and cat sounds... you should have been there :)).  I was impressed with how well they did!  Taylor and David, you did great, too.  Ha ha.  We found some new spots, and David even discovered a new type of thorn that he has named after himself.  Glad we avoided those!  Thanks for the laughs... oh, and go Packers! (sorry Taylor :))

Here are my favorites from today.

Andrew, Jenn, & Cole

Today was a two-session day. :) Andrew and Jenn are the nicest couple ever.  Their little boy Cole is A-DORABLE.  The three of them together make the sweetest family.  Cole is about 6 months younger than my boy, so it's nice to compare notes and swap stories. :) The weather was beautiful and Cole was full of smiles... that is until we set him in the perfect pile of leaves with great light and colors all around.  All he cared about was eating the leaves - which is still totally cute. :)

Chris, Ginny, Emmalyn, and one on the way...

I always get excited to take Chris and Ginny's pics... but I couldn't handle the cuteness today.  Emmalyn was so adorable!!  Ginny and I are part of the wannabefashionablebutaren't club so I was pretty impressed with all their outfits full of fun colors!  Ginny, I may have to vote you out... :) We had a beautiful afternoon.  Emmalyn had fun with pictures for a while, then all she wanted was "umizoomi!" (did I spell that right?) Her little voice is so sweet.  She is going to be a big sister in March (yay!) and Ginny has the cutest baby bump. :)

Enough blubbering about the cuteness of this family... on to my favorites from today!
