My sister married into a wonderful family, and they had a fun Christmas celebration - a sleepover, opening presents in their pajamas, and spending the day together. I was excited to stop by and observe the festivities! Though it was yucky outside, we got a few good family pics! These were special because they were the last family pics before Adam and Meagan moved to Oklahoma. Here are a few of my favorites:
Jeff & Jodie go to our church. The have a daughter named Jaelyn and recently had a son - his name is Chase. I was really excited when they asked me to take their pictures because it gave me a chance to get to know them a little better.
It had been chilly off and on, but the day ended up being perfect. There were still a good amount of fall colors to brighten our setting. I had so much fun with the Karows! They were up for anything and even got down & dirty playing in the leaves at the end!
I have some fun connections to this family. Let's see... John (the dad) works with my Dad. John is married to Jan and they have three kids. Their son Justin, daughter Jennifer, and I went to high school together. Jennifer's husband Jake also went to high school with all of us. I was elated when they asked me to get some family pictures because I love big families! Now that all the kids are married and starting families of their own, it's quite a crew! Here are some of my favorites:
You saw Taylor in her newborn pictures and family Christmas pictures... now she's ONE! Time sure flies... her birthday party was so fun! She wasn't sure what was going on, but completely loved all the attention! The best part was watching her dig into her cake - every so often, she would look at her mom, Kristy, to see if it was really okay. :) What a blessed little girl - friends and family all around her, celebrating her life!
I went to high school with my friend, Sharla. We were cheerleaders together, though we try not to publicize it. Ha ha. When Sharla heard that I was entering into photography, she offered her daughter as a guinea pig subject for me. I was SO excited! Not only do I LOVE taking pics of little ones, but it was a great chance to re-connect with a high school friend! Her daughter, Sophie, is beautiful - her eyes are piercing! She did a great job - and it was fun to see Sharla as a mom (a great one). Thank you, Sharla, for letting me practice and learn while taking pictures of your lovely little one.
Remember Tyson and Taylor? Their parents, Kristy and Aaron, allowed me the honor of shooting their family Christmas pictures. I was still working on getting all the equipment I needed, and I didn't have a flash yet, but we were able to get some great shots. Taylor was absolutely adorable in her bow and gave plenty of smiles. :) Tyson had an ornery grin on his face most of the time - and any time we turned out backs he would be attempting to move ornaments and "re-decorate" the tree. We had a great time - here are some of my faves!
Chris and Jacklyn are very very dear friends of mine. Joe and I have been incredibly blessed by their friendship over the years we have known them. At this time, I had just purchased a new lens and needed to try it out. Jacklyn suggested that I take some Christmas pics for them and they invited me over to their house. Jacklyn and Chris have the most beautiful Christmas decorations! Their tree is gorgeous! We took some of the cute couple (a few where Chris was showing his silly nature :)), then we added their "kids" in the mix - cats Ellie, Keaton, and Lily. So fun! Merry Christmas!
