Slade : New Arrival Pt. 1

You just saw Taylor's baby belly here. I was so excited to hear the news of Slade's arrival! Dave and Taylor asked me to come get some pictures at the Birthcare Center and I couldn't wait. Walking in to the room, I saw the "new daddy" glow all over Dave's face. :) Taylor looked amazing, standing and bouncing her new baby boy. Slade is absolutely adorable. He's so handsome! Dave couldn't stop staring at him. :) I was honored to be a part of those first moments - the newness, the adrenaline, the awe and wonder. I loved it.

David & Taylor : Belly

You might remember Dave and Taylor from beautiful their wedding last fall. I'm SO excited for them to be welcoming their son THIS WEEK! :) Taylor has hit her due date, and though she feels huge and overdue, she still looks amazing! :) We got together for a mini-session (in my house because it was SO cold outside) and these two were hilarious! They had some funny posing ideas and totally got into it! :) Little Slade is going to always be laughing, I'm sure of it.

Alli, Austin, Carson, & Tatum

You may remember this family from here or here. What a journey they have been on since those shoots!  Alli was diagnosed with a rare brain cancer in April of 2013. She was pregnant at the time.  She went through brain surgeries, delivering her baby girl early, radiation, and chemo - and is still daily choosing to live life to the fullest.
As you'll see, her smile shows genuine joy. She has inspired me in ways she's not even aware of. I am honored that Alli chose me to take her family pictures. I loved meeting (and holding) Tatum!

I have to laugh - I had forgotten until I looked back that their first shoot with me was cold, too! I mentioned that Carson was cold but that he pushed through. Well, a few years later it was even COLDER! Carson wasn't excited about the cold - in fact he was upset when they arrived. I was SO impressed, though! He was AWESOME! He put a smile on and was tough even though I knew he was cold. Tatum didn't seem to mind the cold at all! She's got the cutest smile!

I'm glad we got these pictures on Monday, because "snowmageddon" came Tuesday!

Arlee, Maggie, Madelynne, & Maylee

I'm SO glad the weather cooperated for us!  Maggie and her family were in town for Thanksgiving so we had a small window to get pictures done. :) We had a beautiful afternoon!  Madelynne and Maylee have grown so much since last year!  I enjoyed watching the girls run and play as we walked around downtown.  It was great to see Arlee and Maggie and catch up with them. :)

Chris, Ginny, Emmalyn, & Barret

Brrrrrrrr!  This shoot was COLD.  We got 'er done, though. :) I think it's my fastest shoot to date.  Emmalyn and Barret were awesome and did so well in spite of it being 26 degrees out! :) Chris and Ginny... I just love you two.  So much.  Here's to wonderful holidays - and Chris being done with the police academy soon!

Lindsay, Liam, and Simon

It is such an honor to take Lindsay's pictures.  I enjoy watching Liam (and now little brother Simon) grow!  I can't believe Liam is three now!  Their dog Tommy even joined us for a few pictures. :) I was thankful for a beautiful evening, though the temperature started dropping fast toward the end of our shoot.  Here are a few of my favorites from our session. :)

Mason : Senior

This shoot was awesome.  I ventured out to Mason's hometown, having no clue what to expect.  I wasn't familiar with the area, so I hadn't planned the shoot.  Mason's parents had spent an hour and a half scouting locations for us!  They had our route planned, they had a variety of locations picked out, they had visions for what they wanted... I just stepped in and snapped the picture! :) Mason was great to work with - he was willing to hike through hedge apple craziness and walk onto a sketchy bridge. :) I got to meet his cute dog Durango as well as his beautiful and sweet girlfriend Kelsey.  We had fun - and had great weather!
